Bio Summary

Douglas M. Baker is Vice President and Managing Counsel at Unum Group in its Chattanooga, Tennessee headquarters.  He has nationwide responsibility for managing all complex litigation and class actions for the company.  His duties also include management of major regulatory investigations.  Doug is also responsible for managing the broad discovery team at the corporation.  This group is responsible for collection, review and production of broad discovery materials including electronic discovery for all corporate litigation.  Doug is a lecturer on a variety of litigation and insurance topics with a special emphasis on corporate discovery issues.

Doug received his bachelor’s degree with honors from Duke University.  He received his JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is admitted to practice in Tennessee, Georgia and Indiana.
